New Mom Mirinda “Rinny” Carfrae Returns to Triathlon Racing
March 30, 2018
One of triathlon racing’s biggest stars is back for what should be an incredible 2018 season. Three-time Kona Ironman World Champion Mirinda “Rinny” Carfrae took a year off form competition last season to welcome her first child into the world. Now, after a long winter of training, the Australian has set the stage for some big results in the coming months. Rinny will kick off her 2018 season on April 8 at the Ironman 70.3 Texas event. Rinny, a former 70.3 distance world champion, will then contest four additional 70.3 events throughout the year. She’s also targeted two of the biggest Ironman distance events of the year: the Asia-Pacific Championship on June 10, and the World Championship in Kona, Hawaii, on October 13.
Here is Rinny’s full race schedule for the 2018 season, but is subject to change:
April 8: IRONMAN 70.3 Texas
May 13: IRONMAN 70.3 Monterrey
June 10: IRONMAN Asia-Pacific Championship
July 28: IRONMAN 70.3 Santa Rosa
August 5: IRONMAN 70.3 Gdynia
September 9: IRONMAN 70.3 Santa Cruz
October 13: IRONMAN World Championship

Rinny has also started her very own YouTube channel along with her husband, fellow professional triathlete Tim O’Donnell. The Tim & Rinny Show will give fans a behind-the-scenes look at the lives of two of triathlon racing’s biggest stars, including their training regimens, equipment choices, nutrition plans, and a peek into their personal lives and how they balance pro racing with raising a new baby.
