Gallery: A Stunning Viking-Themed Felt IA Custom Triathlon Bike

We're exceptionally proud of our latest collection of IA triathlon bikes, but we're also huge fans of athletes who want to add a little something extra to make their ride a unique reflection of their personality. So when we heard from Speedhub—one of our top dealers in the UK—about a stunning IA triathlon bike that was given an incredibly unique custom paint job, we knew we’d have to share it with the world.

The bike’s owner, James Brown, had decided that he wanted to personalize his IA with a custom paint job. So he contacted a local painter named Phil Callow with a few of his ideas. James has always loved the combination of orange and black colors. He also wanted to include some sort of Viking motif, which came about from his love of history and the notion that the Vikings were a savage, tough people—toughness being a common attribute amongst triathletes.

There are plenty of personal details in the bike’s design, as well, including a tribute to James’s late father, John Henry Brown, who sadly passed away a few years back. James’s father told him, “Never leave anything until tomorrow,” which is what helped inspire James’s fitness journey. The initials on that back of the seat tube are a tribute to his father. This “don’t leave until tomorrow” attitude was further strengthened when James recently lost a friend to a heart attack. James is now in training for his first UK Ironman triathlon and is working hard to raise money for the British Heart Foundation.

Getting the proper size bike is key to comfort, performance, and safety. The world's best bike, if the wrong size for you, won't make you a better rider.
Our bike sizing guide is meant to give some general direction as to the best size to fit you based on your height. This is just one variable in a very complex system between rider and bike so keep in mind that rider proportions, fitness levels, and other aspects particular to the individual cyclist has a big impact on how you'll feel and perform on your new bike.
