Daniela Ryf Wins Triathlon World Title & Breaks Course Record

Daniela Ryf won the Ironman Kona World Championship on Saturday, her second consecutive victory in triathlon’s most prestigious event. The Swiss athlete, sponsored by Felt Bicycles, finished the event with an overall time of 08:46:46, smashing the previous overall women’s course record. Ryf posted a 52:50 swim time, finishing in the front group coming out of Kailua Bay. She then put down a 04:52:26 bike split aboard her Felt IA, over eight minutes faster than the next fastest female pro. Finally, Ryf ran a 02:56:52 marathon.

Felt Athletes Round Out Top Five Finishes

Mirinda “Rinny” Carfrae, the 2013 and 2014 Kona world champion and Felt IA rider, stormed her way to a second place finish at the 2016 edition of triathlon’s biggest race, finishing with an overall time of 09:10:30. Finnish athlete and Kona rookie Kaisa Lehtonen, who also competed aboard the Felt IA, finished her maiden world championship campaign in fifth place with an overall time of 09:15:40.

Getting the proper size bike is key to comfort, performance, and safety. The world's best bike, if the wrong size for you, won't make you a better rider.
