Behind The Scenes At The Rally UHC Cycling Women's Team Camp
January 16, 2019
For the past few years every January, the Rally UHC Cycling pro continental team has converged near the Santa Monica Mountains in Southern California to kick off a new racing season. It's the perfect time to meet up with old teammates after a much deserved winter break, ingratiate new team members into the squad, perform some early season base mile rides, and, perhaps most exciting of all, test ride their new bikes and gear. For 2019, Rally UHC Cycling has joined forces with Felt, and both men's and women's contingents of the powerhouse North American squad will ride the FR Disc road bike in road events and the DA time trial bike in races against the clock. Here's a look behind the scenes at the women's squad's early season rides as they prepare to take on the world's best teams throughout the upcoming season.
Early season training camps are typically the first time that new teammates get a chance to ride together, and the women of Rally UHC Cycling made the most of the experience in the hills of Southern California.

Who says that team camps need to be serious? The squad's first big gathering of the year serves as a crucial time for team-building and bonding, which are integral for a long and successful road campaign.
Krista Doebel-Hickok boarded a plane straight from the Rally UHC Cycling team camp in California to the Women's Tour Down Under in Australia, where she took a stellar third place finish on the tough summit finish of Stage 2, and held on to fourth place on general classification by race's end. It was the start of what should prove to be a successful season for the rising star.
Kelly Catlin is no stranger to Felt bikes, having been a key member of the USA Cycling women's team pursuit squad, the two-time and reigning world champions who compete aboard the revolutionary TA FRD track bike.
